Background

Alwood by Alfred Briggs are one of Ireland’s oldest and most innovative kitchen manufacturers. They have a rich history of designing and manufacturing award winning, bespoke kitchens and bedroom solutions worldwide. Meteor Lite were tasked with providing a new lighting arrangement and a full LED upgrade to their site in Lurgan.

Solution

Increasing the lighting levels and reducing energy costs were the main priorities of this project. The main factory on this site was previously lit by 2x125w T12 battens which were not positioned effectively to meet the company’s manufacturing requirements. Meteor Lite were able to replace these fittings with 54W LED battens which presented a better lit and safer work environment for Alwood’s staff. The new lighting system installed was also able to significantly reduce their annual energy consumption.

Result

Through rigorous planning and continuous involvement of the client, Meteor Lite was able to deliver a highly efficient LED lighting system. The new system allowed Alwood to save 45,506kW per year and their estimated project payback was only 15 months. Meteor Lite’s energy efficient and cost effective lighting system helped meet Alwood’s specific needs.
