Fane Valley

Background

Fane Valley Feeds is one of Northern Ireland’s most recognisable animal feed suppliers. Due to the size of the site and the high running hours, they decided to install a new LED lighting system and Meteor Lite were tasked with completing the work.

Solution

The work was completed in 2 phases due to the size of the site. Phase one consisted of the main mill area and storage areas. Most of the 470 fittings changed required to be changed were 2x49W T5 fittings. We replaced these with 43W IP65 battens which not only reduced the running power but also increased the lighting levels around the mill and storage areas.

Phase 2 consisted of the offices, shop and the external lights. Here, we installed over 100 office fittings, 100W LED high bays and a selection of external fittings.

Result

The new lighting system has increased the lighting levels throughout the site which will ultimately make it safer for the employees. The new system will also reduce running costs and is projected to save Fane Valley up to 60% on their power consumption with annual savings of 148,000kW.
